2.1 Checking

Checking the basic device
Make sure that
b)
• the rope sheave locks clockwise (in direction a)
• the rope sheave turns freely anti-clockwise (in direction b)
• the device, the rope and all other parts of the equipment
are not damaged in any way.

Checking all the parts of the equipment
Harness straps and ropes must be examined for any cracks, cuts and
abrasion at bending points, and metal and plastic parts for deformation,
cracks and corrosion.
