Veggies with Cream Sauce
Ingredients:
4 carrots, cut in slices
2 turnips, cut in slices
7 oz fresh mushrooms, cut in thin slices
14 oz zucchini cut into thick slices
3.5 oz baby green beans
1 onion, coarsely chopped
1 cup light cream
1 tbs butter
¼ cup chopped flat leaf parsley
Salt
Black pepper
Method:
1. Fill water reservoir to MAX. Place the carrot and turnips slices into the steamer
basket (I).
2. Place the zucchini and baby green beans into the second steamer basket (II).
3. Set steamer for 10 minutes.
4. Check for doneness, add a few extra minutes if necessary, then transfer to a
serving dish. Add salt.
5. Melt the butter in a fry pan over medium high heat. Be careful not to burn the
butter, if it starts to smoke, turn down the heat! Add the onions to the fry pan
and cook them for 5 minutes, moving them around the pan from time to time.
6. Add the cream and the mushrooms to the onions and heat it for 1 minute.
7. Place all the veggies in a serving bowl and garnish with parsley. Add salt and
pepper, and serve with the cream.
