The device can be operated with a Kärcher 36 V Bat-
tery Power battery pack.
Installation
Installing shaft
1. Connect the upper and lower shaft segments.

Installing the handle
1. Screw the handle to the upper shaft section at the
desired height.

2. Use the wing screw to adjust the orientation of the
handle:
Perpendicular to the shaft during operation
Parallel to the shaft during transport and storage
a Loosen the wing screw.
Note
The orientation of the handle can only be changed when
the wing screw is completely loosened.

b Turn the handle in the desired direction.
c Tighten the wing screw.

Installing the battery pack
1. Push the battery pack into the mounting in the de-
vice until it audibly latches into place.

Operation
Hang the harness
Note
The harness serves as a self-rescue measure in dan-
gerous situations.

In an emergency, open the fastener and immediate-
ly pull the harness off your shoulders.

Put the device aside and step out of the danger ar-
ea.

1. Place the harness over both shoulders.
2. Snap the fastener into place.
3. Push the hook of the carrying harness into the eye-
let on the shaft.
Working techniques
CAUTION
Obstacles in the mowing area
Risk of injury and damage
Before starting mowing, check the work area for objects
that may be flung away, e.g. wires, stones, cords or
glass.
1. Remove the blade guard if necessary.

2. Press the trigger lockout button.

3. Press the trigger.
The device starts up.
4. Use the speed switch to select the desired speed.

5. Guide the device in a semi-circular movement over
the cutting area.
6. When mowing, guide the cutting head parallel to the
ground.
7. Mow long grass in several passes.
8. Release the trigger.
The device stops.
Changing the cutting tool
CAUTION
Risk of injury from sharp blades
Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when work-
ing on the device.

Incision injuries
Remove the battery from the device before all work on
the device.
The string reel and the trimmer knife are available as
cutting tools.
When changing from the trimmer knife to the string reel,
proceed as follows:
1. Disassemble the trimmer knife.
a Insert a tool (e.g. screwdriver) through the recess
on the side to prevent the cutting tool from rotat-
ing.
b Unscrew the nut.

g Loosen the screws and remove the cutting pro-
tection.
2. Mount the string reel. When assembling the individ-
ual components, make sure that the respective side
recesses match.
a Mount the cutting blade on the string guard, if
necessary.
