The present helmet meets the standard requirements of EN 1385:2012, EN 16473:2014 and EN 16471:2014
and is a high-quality product developed by CASCO.
Please note that helmet wearing safety can only then be ensured when it has been fully assembled and
correctly fitted, and that removable parts cannot be worn separately.
A: HELMET FITTING
1. Correct helmet size choice:
The protective effect can only then be achieved when the CASCO helmet is optimally fitted and the head ring
correctly adjustedto headsize. Always wear the helmet in such a way that the size adjustment is located at the
rear. When worn, the helmet should feel safe and secure. In order to improve comfort still further, please use
the integrated size adjustment mechanism.
2. Adjusting the size adjustment mechanism:
A snug fit is a prerequisite for ensuring maximum protection. Head ring adjustment to the appropriate head size
is achieved using the twistable clasp located at the neck. Rotation to the left opens or loosens the head ring.
Clockwise rotation to the right reduces the infinitely variable head ring in size (Fig. 1). In addition, the headband
can be adjusted to head size (Fig. 2).
3. Height adjustment:
The interior lining of the helmet can be height adjusted. Remove the pins securing the carrying net and re-affix
at the desired height. On delivery, the height fixed for wear is in mid-position.
4. The correct helmet position:
Always place the helmet horizontally on the head, angled to protect your forehead yet not to impair your sight.
Your helmet should not sit on the back of your head (Fig. 4).
5. Chin strap adjustment:
Your CASCO helmet is equipped with the CASCO-Loc strap adjustment system (Fig. 5). Mount the CASCO-Loc
fastening onto the distributor ring. Draw the chin strap taught by pulling on the free end of the right distributor.
To loosen, swivel the distributor slightly upwards. To release, tug the pulling chord on the left side directly
away from your head.
Once the chin strap delivered by the producer has been properly attached, adjusted and worn in accordance
with the required specifications, this helmet meets the European standards of securement.
6. Strap adjustment ‚Fixed Strap Comfort:
Your CASCO helmet has fixed strap comfort: the straps under the ear are firmly sewn on to the distributor.
There is no need to adjust the sides.
7. Verification of fit and securement of straps:
Before using the helmet, ensure that it sits comfortably and that the straps are correcly adjusted and the chin
strap adequately tightened.
Verification of fit:
Using both hands, try to twist the helmet to the left and right. An optimum fit is when the skin on your forehead
moves with the helmet; if this is not the case, then the helmet is too loose. Return to Point 2.
Checking the straps:
With both hands, try to pull the helmet backwards and forwards as far as possible. Make a concerted effort.
This is important. If you can slide the helmet backwards to the point where your forehead is bare or forwards
to the point where your visual field is impaired, then the helmet is not properly adjusted. Repeat Points 2-6
until helmet movement is at a minimum.
WARNING! In the event that you are unable to fit the helmet in such a way that, with fastened straps, the
helmet can only be moderately moved backwards and forwards, DO NOT USE THIS HELMET! Replace it with
a smaller one or a different model from the CASCO line.

B: MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Clean your helmet using our special helmet care products (CASCO helmet cleaner, CASCO helmet
refresher) or use water, mild detergent and a soft cloth. The interior lining and mesh of the helmet can be
replaced as required. Do not use any type of solvent. Proper cleaning, care and treatment is a requirement for
trouble-free functioning.
C: HELMET ALTERATIONS
This CASCO helmet was produced in series, tested and released according to the corresponding standard.
Warning: A helmet compliant with the European standard and labelled as such, may not comply with all areas
thereof when worn in conjunction with further items of personal protective equipment or accessories (other
than those accessories specifically intended for use with this helmet by the manufacturer). Due attention
should be paid to the information provided by the manufacturer in this regard.
The CASCO helmet should not be altered in any way or other brand component parts used. The wrong or
substituted interior fittings and other alterations such as subsequently added boreholes for accessories defeat
the safety purpose of this helmet and invalidate the warranty. Only those replacement parts and accessories in-
tended for use with a given helmet may be used. If in doubt, please contact CASCO International GmbH directly.
Further alterations to the helmet, specifically the use of cleaning substances, chemicals and lacquers, paints
and pigments, solvents, adhesives or self-adhesive labels can pose a serious safety risk. Only use those media,
accessories and spare parts which have been approved by CASCO should be used.
