Aspiration using the LithoVac lv3 alone

For an improved aspiration without using simulta-
neous lithotripsy, it is possible to disconnect the
pneumatic handpiece pn3 from the adjustment
interface and to remove the pneumatic probe.
Creating a wider passage in the lv3 aspiration tube
allows for aspirating larger fragments.

Function testing

Prior to using the handpieces, a function
test should be performed. Check that aspiration
is always connected and operational.
Pneumatic handpiece pn3:
Verify that probe impacts are generated in the
pneumatic handpiece and transmitted to the
probe. Hand feel the shock waves by holding the
pneumatic probe, however never touch the probe
tip for function testing as this may hurt.
LithoVac handpiece lv3:
Immerse the aspiration probe tip into a cup filled
with sterile water. Check that the aspiration
flow is appropriate when the handpiece lever is
depressed, and fully stopped when the lever is
released (the LithoVac valve lever must completely
occlude the tubing).

Tests de fonctionnement

nécessaire de réaliser un test de bon fonction-
nement. Vérifier que l'aspiration soit toujours
connectée et fonctionnelle.
Pièce à main pneumatique pn3:
Vérifier que les pulsations sont générées dans
la pièce à main pneumatique et transmis dans
la broche. Ressentir les ondes de choc dans
la broche en la tenant à la main, cependant ne
pas toucher le bout de la broche pour ne pas se
blesser.
Pièce à main LithoVac lv3:
Immerger le bout de la broche d'aspiration dans
un récipient rempli d'eau stérile. Vérifier que le
débit d'aspiration est approprié quand le levier de
la pièce à main lv3 est appuyé, et complètement
stoppé quand le levier est relâché (le levier du
LithoVac doit complètement obturer le tuyau).
