INFECTION CONTROL PROCEDURES
WARNINGS
• Conversion Kits are not sterile upon receipt and must be sterilized prior to use in accordance with the
following instructions.
LIMITATIONS ON PROCESSING
• Do not use chemical disinfectants prior to sterilization or rapid deterioration of the material may occur.
• Cold liquid disinfection/sterilization, chemical vapor sterilization, and dry heat sterilization methods have
not been tested or validated for efficacy and are not recommended for use. Use may void warranty.
INSTRUCTIONS
Point of use:
Remove excess soil with disposable cloth or paper.
Containment and Transportation:
Protect conversion kit components from damage. Components should be reprocessed as soon as is
reasonably practical following use. Components left standing wet may stain or corrode.
Preparation for decontamination:
Remove excess debris from the components using a disposable cloth or paper. Discard cloth/paper
after use. Disassemble the conversion kit from the air/water syringe. Remove the plastic cone and
adapter o-ring.
Cleaning: automated
None.
Cleaning: manual
1. Clean all external surfaces of the Sani-Tip
detergent and water solution. Dry with a lint-free cloth.
2. Remove the conversion kit from the air/water syringe.
3. Clean all internal surfaces of the adapter, thumb nut, plastic cone and o-ring with a mild detergent
and water solution. Dry with a lint-free cloth.
4. Further process the adapter and thumb nut following the Sterilization procedure listed.
5. The plastic cone and o-ring are not steam autoclave sterilizable. Further process following the
disinfection procedures listed.
Disinfection:
Disinfect the plastic cone and o-ring using standard disinfection solutions.
Packaging:
Place thumb nut and adapter in a paper or paper/plastic steam sterilization pouch. Components may be
loaded into dedicated instruments tray.
Sterilization:
Use a steam autoclave. Place bagged adapter and thumb nut into the steam autoclave, paper side up
