SofTip Disposable Prophy
Tip Installation Instructions
Refer to Installation Figures on
page 2. Figures show the Cavitron
Insert.
1. T
ake a new plastic SofTip
Disposable Prophy Tip (A) and place
it, point first, into the hole in the end
of the wrench.
2. Ensure the metal tip of the Cavitron
Ultrasonic Implant Insert is clean
and dry. Insert the metal tip into the
opening of the prophy tip and twist
1/4 turn while applying firm pressure
to securely seat the disposable
prophy tip on the metal tip.

3. Disengage the prophy tip from the
wrench. Gently pull on the prophy tip
to verify that it is securely in place.
4. Adjust the water flow to obtain a fine
spray. The SofTip System is now
ready to use.

Tip Removal Instructions

61. Figures show the Cavitron
Insert.
1.
Place the plastic SofTip prophy tip in
the slot on the SofTip wrench.
2. Place your thumb and index finger
over the disposable prophy tip.
3. Gently push the handpiece/sonic
scaler downward and the tip will
disengage.
4. Discard the used plastic SofTip
Disposable Prophy Tip in accordance
with applicable standards for
disposalof bio-hazard materials.
Proceed with sterilization of the
ultrasonic insert or metal SofTip Base
and the SofTip wrench.
When to Use the SofTip
System
For Implant Maintenance (SofTip
Implant Insert)
This instrument is to be used for
the removal of plaque and calculus
around titanium implants and their
superstructures. Use the SofTip
disposable prophy tip by applying
light pressure while moving it around
the gingival areas of the implants.
SofTip disposable prophy tips can
also clean metal or porcelain crown
and bridgework, as well as screws and
screw recesses.

warranty, refer the Infections Control
Procedures/Directions for Use supplied
with the insert.
