About the rechargeable batteries
Charging time and operating time
As stated in the user manual, to charge the batteries, you should place the parent
unit in the charging base and leave it there until the batteries are fully charged - at
least 16 hours. Once the batteries are fully charged, you can take the unit off the
base and use it cordlessly for up to 12 hours.
Actual times may vary depending on use
The times given in the user manual are based on the assumption that the baby unit
will be transmitting 25% of the time and will be in standby mode the other 75% of
the time (i.e. when your baby is sleeping or silent). In practice, these times may vary
depending on how often you have fully charged the batteries and how you are using
your monitor.
1
Charging time may be longer if:
B
You leave the parent unit switched ON while the batteries are charging. To decrease
the charging time, make sure the unit is switched OFF while the batteries are charging.
2
Operating time may be shorter if:
B
You have fully charged the empty batteries less than four times in total (the batteries
will charge to their maximum capacity after at least four charge/discharge cycles).
B
You have set the output volume of the parent unit at a high level (level 5).
This means that the baby monitor will consume more energy. To increase the
operating time, lower the volume (level 3 is recommended).
B
You have set the sensitivity of the baby unit at a high level (level 5). This means that
the baby monitor will consume more energy as it is constantly transmitting. To increase
operating time, turn the sensitivity to a lower level (level 3 is recommended).
B
You have set the maximum temperature indicator too low (i.e. lower than room
temperature) OR you have set the minimum temperature too high (i.e. higher than
room temperature). This means that the baby monitor will consume more energy as
the LCD backlight will be on continuously. To increase the operating time, set the
maximum temperature indicator to just above room temperature and set the
minimum temperature indicator to just below room temperature.
For further information about the baby monitor's settings, please refer to the user
manual.
