Argon Handle and Electrodes
Recommended settings
Select the gas flow according to the selected argon electrode and the
indication.

All stated information regarding recommended settings and use of
the instruments is based on clinical experience. Some centers and
doctors prefer other settings, regardless of the stated
recommendations. The stated settings are only basic guidelines,
which must be checked for suitability by the operator. Depending on
individual circumstances, it may be necessary to deviate from the
information stated in these instructions for use.
After use
Reconditioning the instrument after use (refer to the chapter
"General instructions for reconditioning", Page 10)
Take-apart argon electrodes must be disassembled into their
individual parts for cleaning.
Disassemble the instrument in the reverse order of assembly
(see Section 4, page 7).
Warning: Caution: Risk of injury from sharp needle electrode
Note: Fit and remove only when retracted.
General instructions for reconditioning
Instruments must not be used without previously being cleaned,
disinfected and sterilized. Effective cleaning and disinfection is a
precondition for an effective sterilization of instruments. Remove the
electrodes before cleaning.
Observe that only sufficient instruments and product-specified valid
methods for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization are used and that
the valid parameters maintained with each cycle.
Observe the valid legal regulations of the country and the regulations
for hygiene of the hospital.
Do not sterilize electrodes and handle bunched together!
The amount for reapplication of the individual components is, with a
sterilization time of 20 minutes and with a sterilization temperature of
134°C, as follows:
Argon handle A: up 100 times,
Rigid Argon probes E: up to 75 times.
Every exceeding further application falls within the responsibility of
the user.
Argon surgical handles and Argon electrodes can be cleaned in the
instrument washing machine.
