6. Final Caulking
IMPORTANT! Carefully follow the silicone sealant manufacturer's instructions for application and curing
time.
NOTE: Thoroughly clean and dry all dust, dirt, and grease from the bottom track and shower ledge
surfaces where silicone sealant will be applied.
Make sure the top track expansion mechanism nut is flush against the top track extension (refer to
the "Install the Tracks" section). If the nut is not flush, using the provided hex wrench, tighten the
shaft until the nut is flush against the top track.
Slide both of the top track caps flush against the shower wall on each end of the top track.
Remove the tape that was temporarily holding the wall jambs in place.
Apply masking tape along the entire base. make sure there is space for a 3/16" (5 mm) bead of
caulk.
IMPORTANT! The following steps are critical to the long-term performance of your shower.
Using silicone sealant (only), apply a minimum 3/16" (5 mm) bead of sealant to each wall jamb
where they meet the wall on the outside of the shower. Apply sealant to the entire length of the
bottom track where it meets the threshold on the outside of the shower.
Lift the center guide slightly and apply sealant under the guide where it rests on the bath/shower
ledge before sealing the bottom track.
Allow the caulk to cure, following the manufacturer's instructions, before using the bath/shower.
