2. Clean the electrodes with a metal brush and
remove any carbon black deposits.
3. Check the correct electrode gap with a feeler
gauge.
4. Reinsert the spark plug and tighten with a
socket wrench.
NOTE
An incorrect spark plug can cause en-
gine damage.
12.4 Angling the engine
The carburettor/air filter must point upwards (7).
12.5 Cleaning the engine
IMPORTANT!
Danger of fire!
Remove flammable objects from the ex-
haust and the cylinder area.
Remove the contamination regularly from the en-
gine with a cleaning cloth or brush.
Clean the cooling openings.
Clean the cooling system. In order to prevent
overheating, also clean the internal cooling vanes
and surfaces.
NOTE
Do not spray the engine with water.
Clean with a brush or rags.
12.6 Maintenance schedule
Comply with the intervals measured in hours or
years, whichever occurs first. For use under more
demanding conditions, more frequent mainte-
nance is required.
After the first 5 operating hours

Change the engine oil.
Every 5 hours or daily prior to use

Check the oil level.

Clean the area of the silencer and controls.
Every 25 hours or every 3 months

Clean the air filter; if there are high levels of
dust in the air or foreign bodies in the air,

12.8 Disposal
Do not dispose of worn-out equip-
ment, spent batteries or recharge-
able batteries in domestic waste.
The packaging, equipment and acces-
sories are made from recyclable materi-
als, and must be disposed of accord-
ingly.
