2.2.2 Installing Changeover Module

The installation procedure for the changeover module in conjunction with navigation Mark IIi is described for
LHD vehicles only.The installation kit navigation Mark IIi is not offered for RHD vehicles.

Preparation
Print out fault code memory
Disconnect battery
Remove front left entrance strip
Remove cover under instrument panel in footwell, left
Remove bottom left A-pillar trim panel
Remove (expose) left door isolating connector
Fold back carpet (expose ground terminal point) in footwell area on left
Open out fold-out page! (Page 2-99)

The figure shows the front left entrance from the inside:
Connect branch A1, black 2-pin pin housing, from changeover module A to black 2-pin socket housing (2) of
navigation wiring harness (3).
Connect branch A2, 1-pin socket contact, white/brown wire, from changeover module A to PIN 2 of supplied black
2-pin socket housing (1).
Connect branch A3, 1-pin socket contact, red/white wire, from changeover module A to PIN 1 of supplied
black 2-pin socket housing (1).
Firmly secure branch A4, 6 mm cable eye, brown wire, from changeover module A at ground terminal point X173 in
footwell area on left.
Connect branch A7, black 3-pin pin housing, from changeover module A to black 3-pin socket housing (4) of
navigation wiring harness (3).
Tie back supplied black 2-pin socket housing (1) with connected branches A2 and A3 from changeover module A
on vehicle wiring harness (not required).

Follow specified order.

The two supplied shrink-fit tubes (1) must be fitted on branches A9, 1-pin socket contact, blue wire, and A10,
1-pin socket contact, blue/brown wire.

Release black 8-pin speaker connector X18196 from door isolating connector (1) as illustrated and slide out.

Unplug pin contact (1) of speaker cable (2), blue/white wire, from PIN 28 of black 8-pin speaker connector X18196.
Connect unplugged 1-pin pin contact (1), blue/white wire, of speaker cable (2) to branch A9, 1-pin socket contact,
blue wire, from changeover module A.
