ASSEMBLY
REAR U BRAKE
OPTION 2
INSPECT THE BRAKES
Press the brake levers to make sure they do not lock and the brake pads press the rims with sufficient
force to stop the bike. The brake pads should adjust so that they are at 1 or 2 mm away from the rim
when the brakes are not activated. The brake pads should focus on the rim and back of each brake cov-
erage pad should be approximately 0.5 to 1.0mm furthest from to rim to the front.
Do not ride a bicycle until the brakes function properly. For the test, apply the brakes while pushing the
bike forward, making sure that they hold.
ROTORS
Some freestyle BMX bikes are equipped with a system that allows the handlebar to turn 360 degrees
without locking the cables. It is very important that this system is adjusted properly. The installation
should only be performed by a qualified bicycle mechanic, and with the right tools.
UPPER CABLE
1. First connect to end of the cable drum above the rear brake lever.
Make sure that the long cable coverage is over the short cable coverage, otherwise the top cable will be
twisted more in him.
2. Pass the upper cable through the handlebar (under the bar) with the short cable coverage, on the the
same side as the rear brake lever.
3. Connect the upper cable to the top plate through the upper cable cap nuts upper through the holes of
the top plate and connecting them to the bearing.
4. Screw the stretch drums on the top plate. Do not tighten the nuts at this time.
BOTTOM CABLE
1. Slide the cable spiral through the Noodle on the frame.
2. Connect the lower cable to the bottom plate through the cap nuts of the lower cable through the
threaded holes on the bottom plate and connecting them to the bearing.
3. Screw the stretch drums on the bottom plate. Do not tighten the nuts at this time.
4. Connect the lower cable to the rear brake. Do not tighten the rear brake at this time.
Make sure that all edges of the tube cable spiral from the upper and lower cables are correctly seated
and that the spring tension on the rear brake is pushing the bearing down.
SETTINGS
1. Screw the cable adjuster to the rear brake lever and the upper cable splitter altogether.
2. Screw the stretch drums into the top plate (or out) to adjust the bearing to obtain the maximum dis-
placement. The bearing should be as low as possible without being supported on the bottom plate or on
the stretch drum bolted on the bottom plate.
3. Use the stretch drums screwed on the upper plate to put the bearing in a parallel direction to the upper
plate. Use a 10mm screwdriver to tighten the 10mm nut on the upper left stretch drum. Do not tighten
