29. Attach the door by inserting the hooks on the
door into the slots on either side of the pan.
Allow the door to slide down to the fully
closed position. Make certain the door
closes completely. If it does not, open the
door by sliding it straight up and then away
from the pan and check the rung stack and
nylon strapping. Attempt to close the door
again. If it still will not close completely you
need to reposition the rung stack.
Repeat Steps 24, 25 and 26.
The outside of the unit may be painted or
wallpapered if desired. Make sure door is
free to open.
Step 4 – Customize and Test the
Installation
30. Critical – Do Not Skip This Test! TEST THE
INTEGRITY OF THE INSTALLATION
BEFORE USING.
Look below the window before you deploy
the ladder. If you have windows or screens
directly below or exterior siding that may
be damaged from the ladder, you will want
to be careful in releasing the ladder to the
ground. Failure to follow these steps may
result in structure damage, serious injury
or death.
Hold the entire rung stack by Velcro strap
and place the ladder on the window sill.
You must have a clear path to the ground
before you release the PULL strap tab.
DO NOT CLIMB DOWN THE LADDER UNTIL
YOU HAVE TESTED THE INTEGRITY OF THE
INSTALLATION BY COMPLETING THIS
ENTIRE SECTION.
