CAUTION
Installation of the rung stack in the
incorrect orientation may result in injury.
22. Attach the tri-d-rings to the studs by using
the 3/8" x 1-3/4" hex lag screws. Place the
hex lag screw though the washer, then
through the tri-d-ring and into the pilot hole
you drilled. Be sure to orient the tri-d-rings
as shown in this picture. The triangle-shaped
tip should be pointed down and the webbing
oriented toward the top front of the pan.
Use the socket wrench to tighten the hex
lag screws. CAUTION: DO NOT OVER
TIGHTEN. Replace the stud if it is split,
splintered or shows any sign of weakness.
23. Pick up the rung stack and inspect. BE
SURE it is as shown with the rungs "upside
down" , the stand offs towards the back,
stacked tight and the PULL strap correctly
oriented upwards (as shown here).
24. Hold the rung stack in one hand and with
your free hand pull the webbing leaders
(the 2" wide webbing) along the outside of
the rung stack. The goal is to have the
webbing rest along the sides of the metal
pan, wrapping around the rung stack and
the excess webbing and the climbing
assistance strap folded neatly on top of the
stack. Be sure the webbing closest to the
tri-d-ring is oriented upward and along
the left and right sides of the rung stack
which allows the unit to fit snugly and the
door to close properly.
