The risk from exposure to such substances will
depend on how long you or people nearby are
exposed to them.
Do not let particles enter the body.
Do the following to reduce exposure to these
substances: ensure good ventilation of the
workplace and wear appropriate protective
equipment, such as respirators able to filter
microscopically small particles.
Observe the relevant guidelines for your material,
staff, application and place of application (e.g.
occupational health and safety regulations,
disposal).
Collect the generated particles at the source, avoid
deposits in the surrounding area.
Use suitable accessories for special work (see
chapter 10.), thus less particles enter the
environment in an uncontrolled manner.
Use a suitable extraction unit.
Reduce dust exposure with the following measures:
- Do not direct the escaping particles and the
exhaust air stream at yourself or nearby persons
or on dust deposits.
- Use an extraction unit and/or air purifiers.
- Ensure good ventilation of the workplace and
keep clean using a vacuum cleaner. Sweeping or
blowing stirs up dust.
- Vacuum or wash the protective clothing. Do not
blow, beat or brush.

4 Thumb-wheel for gear selection
5 Sliding switch (normal drilling/impact drilling)
6 Rotation selector switch
7 Trigger switch
8 Handle
9 Capacity indicator button
10 Capacity and signal indicator
11 Battery pack
12 LED light
13 Battery pack release button
6. Commissioning
To ensure that the chuck is securely fitted:
after initial drilling (clockwise), use a
screwdriver to firmly tighten the safety screw inside
the chuck (if applicable / model-specific). Caution
left-handed thread! (See chapter 7.7)
6.1
Assembly of the additional handle
For safety reasons, always use the additional
handle supplied.
Open the clamping ring by turning the additional
handle (1) counter-clockwise. Push the additional
handle onto the collar of the machine. Insert the
10
depth stop (3). Securely tighten the additional
handle at the angle required for the application.
6.2
Battery pack
Charge the battery pack (11) before use.
Recharge the battery pack if performance
diminishes.
The ideal storage temperature is between 10°C and
30°C.
"Li-Power, LiHD" lithium ion battery packs have a
capacity and signal indicator (10):
- Press the button (9), the LEDs indicate the charge
level.
- The battery pack is almost flat and must be
recharged if one LED is flashing.
6.3
Removing and inserting the battery pack
Removing: press the battery pack release button
(13) and pull the battery pack (11) forwards.
Inserting: slide in the battery pack (11) until it
engages.
7. Use
7.1
Depth Stop Setting
Loosen the additional handle (1). Set the depth stop
(3) to the desired drilling depth and retighten
additional handle (1).
7.2
Setting the direction of rotation,
engaging the transporting safety device
(switch-on lock)
Only activate the rotation selector switch (6)
when the motor has completely stopped.
See page 2:
R = Clockwise setting
L = Counter-clockwise setting
0 = Centre position: with the transporting safety
device engaged (switch-on lock)
The chuck must be firmly screwed onto the
spindle and the safety screw inside the chuck
(if applicable / model-specific) must be firmly
tightened with a screwdriver. (Caution, left-handed
thread!) If rotated counter-clockwise (e.g. when
screwing) it could otherwise become loose.
7.3
Switching over drilling/impact drilling
Select the desired operating mode by pushing the
sliding switch (5).
Drilling
Impact drilling
Work with high speed settings when impact drilling
(2nd gear).
Impact drilling and normal drilling only in
a clockwise direction.
7.4
Gear selection
Select the desired speed by turning the thumb-
wheel (4).
