standards, using connectors that conform to the EN 362 standard.
Connection:
- With single line:
- Using a connector inserted into the hole (2A), connect the TRIMMER to the ventral
attachment point on the harness (fig. 4A) or to the anchor point / structure (fig. 4B).
- Using a connector, connect the eyelet sewn into the line (1A) to the anchor point /
structure (fig. 4A) or to the ventral attachment point on the harness (fig. 4B).
- With a double line (fig. 5):
- Using a connection inserted into the hole (2A), connect the TRIMMER to the side
attachment point on the belt / harness.
- Take the line around the structure and, using a connector, connect the sewn
eyelet (1A) to the other side attachment point on the belt / harness. When using a
connection to a structure that does not keep the line at waist level or higher, take
the line around twice (fig. 6).
Important: when connecting to structures that could damage the line (1), put the sliding
protective sheath (3) in place - (fig. 7).
Adjusting the length:
- To move closer to the anchor point or structure, pull the free end of the line (fig. 8).
- To move away from the anchor point or structure, push the lever (2B) - (fig. 9).
Warning: the TRIMMER allows the length of the line to be adjusted even when loaded,
but it is not a device for descending!
Examples of correct use of the TRIMMER:
- As a retention system: it limits the user's movements, preventing them reaching
zones or positions in which there is a danger of falling from a height (fig. 10).
As a work positioning system: it allows the user to work, supported, in tension (fig. 11)
or hanging (fig. 12), thereby avoiding free falling. Warning: the positioning system must
always be used with a system for arresting a fall from a height.
9 - CHECKS BEFORE AND AFTER USE
Check and make sure that:
- The line (1) does not have any cuts, burns, residue of chemical products, excessive
fraying, wear, hardening or variations in diameter. Especially check areas that come
into contact with metal parts.
- Stitching is undamaged and that there are no cut or loosen threads,
- The length adjustment device (2) is working properly (adjustment and locking), that
is not deformed mechanically, it has no cracks, traces of corrosion, and that it is free
of foreign elements (stones, sand, lubricant, etc.) in the line's passage zone.
In a safe position, check the device is correctly working.
