check valve. A clogged fuel filter will cause poor engine
performance. If performance improves when the fuel cap
is loosened, check valve may be faulty or filter clogged.
Replace fuel cap if required.
SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT
This engine uses a Ryobi AC00160, Champion RCJ-6Y
or NGK BPMR7A spark plug with a .025 in. electrode
gap. Use an exact replacement and replace annually.
STORING THE PRODUCT
Clean all foreign material from the product. Store
n
idle unit indoors in a dry, well-ventilated area that is
inaccessible to children. Keep away from corrosive
agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
No fuel in tank.
Engine fails to start.
Spark plug shorted or fouled.
Spark plug broken (cracked porcelain
or electrodes broken; ignition lead wire
shorted, broken, or disconnected from
spark plug.)
Ignition inoperative.
Engine flooded
Water in petrol or stale fuel mixture.
Engine hard to start.
Too much lubricant in fuel mixture.
Engine under or over choked.
Weak spark at spark plug.
Engine lacks power.
Air filter clogged.
Engine overheats.
Insufficient lubricant in fuel mixture.

When storing 1 month or longer:

Abide by all ISO and local regulations for the safe
storage and handling of petrol.
Drain all fuel from tank into a container approved for
petrol. Run engine until it stops.
Solution
Fill the tank.
Replace the spark plug.
Replace the spark plug; or
Replace the lead wire or attach it to the spark plug.
Check and make sure the switches engaged are ready to
work:
Put the guards to the right positions at the blowing and
vacuuming opening sides, and insert the sliders into the
switch slots right way.
If the engine still fails to start, contact an authorized
service centre.
Remove the spark plug, then turn the unit until the spark
plug hole aims at the ground.
Set the choke lever to "RUN" position and pull the starter
grip 10 to 15 times. This will clear excessive fuel from the
engine.
Remove any fuel from the product.
Clean and reinstall the spark plug.
Clean up any spilled fuel and move it at least 9 m away
from the engine before restarting.
Pull the starter grip 3 times with the choke lever at "RUN"
position.
If the engine does not start, set the choke lever to "FULL"
position and repeat the normal starting procedure.
If the engine still fails to start, repeat the above procedure
with a new spark plug.
Drain the entire system and refill with fresh fuel.
Drain and refill with correct mixture.
Adjust the choke as necessary.
Contact an authorized service centre.
Clean the air filter according to the "Cleaning the Air Filter"
section earlier in this manual.
Mix the fuel according to the "Mixing the Fuel" section earlier
in this manual .
