3.11 Connecting the Air Supply Hose to the Attachment Hose

Verify that the cylinder valve knob is completely closed (clockwise).
DO NOT open the cylinder valve knob unless in an emergency escape application. Doing so

while connected to an air source could result in depleted cylinder pressure and decreased escape
time.
DO NOT enter any area which requires an escape greater than the service life of the cylinder.

Cylinder life varies with the work rate of the individual and may be shorter with heavy work loads.
Misuse can result in serious injury or death.
WARNING

Push the regulator release buttons to shut off the regulator.
(3)
While pressing the release buttons, pull the regulator out of the
stand-by mount.
(4)
Connect the air supply hose to the attachment hose.
(5)
Pull on the quick-disconnect plug and socket to verify that the
hoses are securely attached.
(6)
Listen and inspect for air leakage from the regulator, cylinder
and valve assembly, and hose connections.
