Preparation for use

Attaching the cuff

1. Before taking a blood pressure
measurement,
jewellery, such as watches and
bracelets, on the arm that is to
be used for measuring.
Note:
If your doctor has diagnosed poor
circulation in your left arm, use the
right arm.
2. In order to be able to wrap the cuff around the arm, push
or roll your sleeve up to expose the bare skin. Make sure
your sleeve is not too tight.
Hold your arm with the palm of your hand facing upwards
and attached the cuff to the upper arm over the main ar-
tery. The air tube must be on the inner side of the arm in
line with the little finger. On the cuff there is also a printed
label that you can use for guidance.

Note:
You can find the main artery by pressing two fingers ap-
proximately 2 centimetres above the bend of the elbow on
the inner side of the arm. The point where the pulse can be
strongly felt is the location of the main artery.
3. The cuff should be
fitted snugly comfort-
ably but should not
constrict the arm. It
should be possible
to insert a finger be-
tween the cuff and
the arm.
