PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT
FALL ARREST HARNESS
COMPLIANT WITH STANDARD EN 361:2002
1- INTRODUCTION
1-1 IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE:
You have just acquired Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE) and we thank you for your confidence. Please
follow the instructions given here BEFORE EVERY
USE OF THE EQUIPMENT, in order to gain maximum
benefit. Failure to follow the instructions given in this
manual may have grave consequences.
We recommend that you re-read these instructions
from time to time. In addition, the manufacturer or its
representative declines all responsibility in case of any
use, storage method or maintenance carried out in any
other manner than that described in this manual.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS
MAY LEAD TO MALFUNCTIONING OF THE
PRODUCT AND BE DETRIMENTAL TO THE
ARREST OF A FALL, THUS RESULTING IN SERIOUS
INJURIES OR DEATH FOR THE USER
IF THE BUYER IS NOT THE END USER, IT IS
IMPORTANT THAT THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE
GIVEN TO THE END USER
In the interests of the user's safety, if the product is
resold outside of the original destination country, the
seller must provide the following information in the
language habitually used in the country of use:
maintenance instructions
instructions for periodical examination;
instructions concerning repairs;
additional information required that is specific to
the equipment.

General instructions for use
1-3 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION (cf. p 4-7)
COMPLIES WITH STANDARD EN 361
Full body harness (made of straps, synthetic fibres,
information about material available on equipment
marking) with or without connectors (Compliant with
EN 362).
1-4 COMPATIBILITIES
A fall arrest harness is designed to be used together
with other components forming part of personal fall
arrest systems (compliant with EN 363).
It is necessary to be completely sure before use that
the recommendations specific to each element asso-
ciated with this product are respected, as defined in
their corresponding instructions, that they comply
with the applicable European standards or otherwise
any other appropriate standard and that their safety
functions do not interfere with one another.
Check that the product you have just acquired is com-
patible with the recommendations of the other system
components.
1-5 HAZARDS
In conjunction with fall arrest systems, this harness is
designed to protect against fall from height that may
cause serious injuries.
While in use, protect your PPE against all risks connec-
ted with the work environment: thermal, electrical or
mechanical shocks, acid splashes, sharp edges, etc. ...
1-6 PERFORMANCE
This equipment has undergone a standard EC exami-
nation (EN 361)with a notified body (cf p95), which
issued an EC certificate confirming that all equipment
produced and the corresponding instructions comply
with Directive 89/686/EEC.
1-7 LIMITATIONS AND CAPABILITIES
Only a fall arrest harness which is compliant with EN
361 is allowed to be used in a fall arrest.
This harness shall be used as a part of a fall arrest sys-
tem (eg work on roofs, terrace, scaffolding, ....), and
shall not be used for work positioning or suspension
work.
Never use this harness for load carrying.
If the harness has suffered a fall, it must be withdrawn
from the field.
