4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 LIGHT SWITCH
See fig.3 (n.5 fig.1).
0 = Off.
1 = Side lights.
2 = Low beams.
3 = High beams (do not use for on-road driving).
Push: horn.
4.2 IGNITION SWITCH
See fig.4 (n.21 fig.1) and consult the engine instruction manual.
Before starting the engine, check to make sure the gear lever (n.2 fig.1) and
th4e speed range lever (n.26 fig.1) are in neutral. Push in the clutch pedal (n.23
fig.1), to close the ignition enable circuit and turn the ignition key as follows:
0 = No circuit alive.
P = Preheat glow plugs. Hold the key in this position for 8-10 seconds.
1 = Turn on instruments and status lights (operating position).
2 = Start engine.
Once the engine has started: release the key and it will automatically reset to
position 1 (operating).
Check status lights and control instruments.
The water temperature needle (n.1 fig.2), when the engine is hot and in work
status, will be between 80° and 100°. If it does not, check the engine cooling
system.
Stop the engine and check the engine cooling liquid level (section 6.4) and
check if the radiator is clean. Lastly, check belt tension.
4.3 STOPPING THE ENGINE
Move the throttle lever (n.3 fig.1) forward to minimum Rpm and turn the ignition
switch fig. 4 (n.21 fig.1) to position 0.
Pull the braking brake lever up (n.18 fig.1).
WARNING: The steering action of the power steering system will be
reduced if the engine accidentally stops. Depress the main brake to allow the
machine to come to a full stop.
