WARNINGS FOR INSTALLATION / REMOVAL / REPAIR
• The installation and the electrical con-
nections of the unit and its accessories
must only be carried out be people with
the technical and professional expertise
qualifying them to undertake installa-
tion, modification, expansion and main-
tenance of the systems and are able
to check them in terms of safety and
functionality. In this manual they are
generally indicated as "personnel with
specific technical competence."
• The FW-R air conditioners are designed
for internal installation.
• Ensure that the hydraulic system pro-
vides the flow rate at the temperature
shown in the design requirements.
• The installation must be carried out in
accordance with the local national regu-
lations. Pay particular attention to the
safety aspects and that cables are cor-
rectly connected: an incorrect cable con-
nection can cause overheating of the
power supply cable, of the plug and the
electrical socket, with consequent risks
of fires.
• Ensure that the air conditioner is
connected to the electrical power supply
or to a socket of correct voltage and
frequency. Power supplies of incorrect
voltages and frequencies could cause
damage to the unit, with the consequent
risk of fires. The voltage must be stable
and there must be no large fluctuations.
• Install a solid surface that can carry the
weight of the air conditioner. Enure that
the unit is completely stable also after
having operated for an extended period
of time.
Adopt measures to avoid heat losses and
hence the formation of condensate. In
incorrect installation of tubes can cause
water losses and wetting of furniture and
other objects present in the room.
• Do not install the unit is places that could
be subject to losses of flammable gas
or storing flammable, explosive, poison-
ous or corrosive materials. Do not have
naked flames in proximity of the unit.
This can cause fires or explosions. Install
the unit in places with low quantities of
dust, smoke, air humidity and corrosive
agents.
• Do not install in laundries.
• Provide sufficient access space around
the unit for maintenance.
• Consider the weight and the dimensions
of the unit in the installation. Respect the
data provided in this manual.
• The units must be kept out of reach of
children and incapacitated persons.
• Do not modify the unit! Do not attempt
to repair the unit yourself: it is very dan-
gerous! Incorrect interventions can cause
electric shocks, water losses, fires, etc.
Contact the local Service Assistance;
interventions can only be made by "per-
sonnel with specific technical compe-
tence".
• Ensure that the power supply network
and capacity is adequately sized for the
correct requirements of the air condi-
tioner.
• Before starting the air conditioner
ensure that the electrical cables and the
condensate drain tubes are correctly
installed to eliminate risks of water loss,
refrigerant gas loss and electric shocks.
• Correctly connect the earthing for the air
conditioner. Do not connect the earthing
cable to gas tubes, water tubes, lightning
protection or the telephone earthing
cable. An inadequate earthing can cause
electric shocks.
• Correctly connect the air conditioner to
the entering and leaving hydraulic circuit.
• Do not handle the unit with wet hands.
This could cause electric shocks.
• Ensure the unit is switched of an isolated
before carrying out any maintenance or
cleaning works.
• Before carrying out any intervention
ensure the electrical power supply is dis-
connected.
• Do not place objects on the unit and do
not climb onto the unit.
• Use intact cables of adequate thickness
for the load for the electrical power
supply.
• Stranded cables can be used only with
cable lugs. Ensure that the cable strands
are properly inserted.
• Carefully route the power cables and
the connection with the receiver; cables
must not be under mechanical stress.
Cables must be protected.
• Do not make connections in the power
supply cable but use a longer cable.
Junctions can cause overheating or fires.
• If the power supply cable is damaged it
must be replaced to avoid any dangers.
Replace the cable only with a cable of the
type indicated in the manual. This inter-
vention can only be made by "personnel
with specific technical competence".
• To protect the unit against short circuits
fit a magneto-thermal circuit breaker,
with at least 3mm contact break on all
poles, to the power supply line.
• The isolator and any socket must be
installed in an accessible location.
• Do not allow any cable to directly touch
the refrigerant tubes because these can
reach elevated temperatures.
• To avoid communication errors ensure
that the signal line cables are correctly
terminated.
• Periodically check the condition of instal-
lation to ensure there have been no
alteration. Have the system checked by
"personnel with specific technical com-
petence".
• Install the unit at least 1m away from
electrical appliances, TV, radio, stereo,
etc.
• After having made the electrical con-
nections carry out a test. This operation
must only be carried out by "personnel
with specific technical competence."
• Once started the unit must not be
stopped for at least 5 minutes, to avoid
oil return to the compressor.
• Electrical wiring diagrams are subject
to continual updates: it is mandatory to
refer to those on board the unit.
• Replace fuses only with fuses identical to
the original.
• The minimum distance between the unit
and any flammable surfaces is 1.5 metres
• Before carrying out any intervention
ensure the electrical power supply is
disconnected.
• An incorrect installation can be the cause
of water leaks, shocks or fires.
• After a long period of use check the
condition of installation to ensure there
have been no alteration. Have the system
checked by a qualified technician.
• Do not modify the unit! Do not attempt
to repair the unit yourself: it is very
dangerous!
Incorrect interventions can cause electric
shocks, water losses, fires, etc.
Contact the local Service Assistance;
interventions can only be made by
"personnel with specific technical
competence".
