4 INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY

4.1 For a satisfactory installation of the product is important to:
• To make sure that the structure of the door is solid and suitable to be motorised;
• To make sure the door has no points of friction during movement;
• To check that the door is well balanced. Operate on the balancing mechanisms if necessary;
• To check the clearance of the gear motor/track (Fig. 2) is compatible with the area pre-selected for assembly;
• To prepare a suitably protected 230V powered socket near to the electric box.
4.2 Defi ned and satisfi ed these prerequisites, proceed to the assembly:
MOTOR INSTALLATION (Fig. 3 - Fig. 4)
Warning: ADVANCE must be fi xed with the motor near to the door to be moved. This means wiring operations and positioning of the
cable trays, for cable passage, are easier. "Traditional" assembly, with motor at a distance from the door, is however possible without
particular measures.
• Mount the main unit (1) to the track unit (2) by inserting the motor shaft inside the pinion (Fig. 4) and fi x everything with the screws
and nuts provided;
Warning: pay attention that the bracket key is in its seat when coupling the shaft/pinion. Use grease, if necessary.
• Mount the 4 fi xing brackets to the ceiling (3) (adjust the brackets so that the track is perfectly horizontal, once fi xed to the ceiling);
cut off the excess.
• Fix the front bracket (4) to the fork on the track and successively to the door frame (if possible) or to the wall, using screws or plugs
that are suitable for the material respecting the distances indicated in Fig. 5;
• Lift the rear part of the track and fi x it to the ceiling using equipment suitable for the type of material/surface (Fig. 5);
• Fix the drive lever (5) to the release runner (6);
• Release the motor and take the runner near to the door;
• Fix the drive lever in the upper part of the door to be moved using equipment suitable for the type of material/surface;
Warning: once the connection bracket has been mounted on the door, the drive lever must not exceed 30° with respect to the track.
• If the chain should become slack, tighten the nut on the tensioner and adjust the tension without exaggerating (Fig. 7); block the
counter-nut when adjustment has been completed.
FIXING THE ELECTRIC BOX (Fig. 6)
• Fix the electric box to the wall at a height of at least 1.5 m using equipment suitable for the type of material/surface;
• Prepare one or more cable trays for the passage of cables that easily reach the ADVANCE control unit;
• Connect the control unit to the motor using a multi-core cable (not supplied).
4.3 Adjustment of mechanical retainers (Fig. 8)
All ADVANCE models have mechanical retainers, which can and MUST be adjusted before learning of the motor stroke. Proceed as indi-
cated below to adjust.
Loosen the mechanical retainer fi xing screws, without exaggerating. Release and lift the door manually to the fully open position, che-
cking that the retainer is fully home with respect to the release runner and, in this position, tightly torque the fi xing screws. Repeat the
previous operation also for the closure position and re-block the door.
Warning: periodically check that the fi xing screws are tight, so as to prevent malfunctioning.
4.4 How to unlock the gear motor
All ADVANCE models have a release device that is activated by pulling the handle indicated in Fig. 9 downwards; at this point, the door
is free to move if there are no other obstructions present. To restore the motor work condition, move the handle upwards and move the
door manually until the release runner is blocked again.
