2. Operating instructions
• Before each use, thoroughly wash your hands and clean the nasal irrigator and
its accessories as directed in section 3.Cleaning, Sanitization, Disinfection and
Sterilization.
• Take care during use as the solution may drip from the nose.
2.1 - Before using for the first time, charge the batteries as indicated in the previous
section.
2.2 - To use the nasal irrigator correctly, the man symbol (
chamber (4), must always face the patient.
The nebulisation chamber can either be fitted so that this symbol is on the same
side as the power button (5a), so the nasal irrigator can be activated using the
thumb, or with the symbol on the opposite side to the button, to be activated
using the index finger.
To obtain one of these conditions, when starting to screw the nebulisation
chamber (4) clockwise onto the compressor body (5) (figure B), the man symbol
must be on the opposite side to the position desired (figure C).
2.3 - Pour the solution (max 15 ml) into the nebulisation chamber (4a) as shown in
figure D. Check that the atomiser (3) is in place.
2.4 - Apply the separator (2), using the ball (2a) next to the man symbol (
the outside of the nebulisation chamber (4) to guide it, as indicated in Figure E.
Then insert the nasal adaptor that best fits your nostrils (1a/1b/1c).
2.5 - Place the hole on the nasal adaptor inside a nostril (FIG. F).
2.6 - Start the nasal irrigator by holding the dispensing button (5a) pressed down
while breathing in. Release the button before breathing out; during this stage,
to help clear your nose of mucous, gently blow through the nostril being treated
with the nasal irrigator, keeping the other nostril closed.
2.7 - Also during nebulisation in one nostril, press your finger on the other nostril to
keep it closed.
2.8 - Repeat steps from 2.5 to 2.7 for your other nostril, trying to divide the solution
evenly between the two.
2.9 - When treating children or persons with disabilities, who are not able to
coordinate the various manoeuvres of step 2.6, we suggest switching nostrils
approximately every 15 seconds, pausing in between to allow the discharge of
mucous.
2.10 - Before administering aerosol treatments, it is a good idea to wash your nose with
saline solution. This will allow the medication to be distributed more effectively
over the mucous membrane.
2.11- After completing the treatment, switch off the unit. Clean and/or sanitise the
unit as directed in section 3. Cleaning, Sanitization, Disinfection and Sterilization.
The average life of the device includes about 1,000 applications.
