5. INSTALLATION
The pump station must be constructed according

to good professional practice.
5.1. Mounting - Installation
Never handle or suspend the unit by its electric

cable.
- Install the pump in a place easy to reach, protected from frost,
and as close as possible to the place from which water is drawn.
- If installation permanently, Install the pump on a foundation block
or directly on a smooth, level floor.
- If installing out of doors, piping, taps, valves, electrical controls,
etc. should be protected from frost.
- If the valve is removed from the body of the pump, a non-return
valve should be fitted to each discharge pipe, appropriate to the
liquid being pumped, and an isolating tap for full way.
- The non-return valves should ideally be fitted in the upper part of
the discharge pipe.
- Use pipes with at least the same diameter as the pump's discharge
connection.
Bear in mind that the altitude of the place of

installation and the water temperature may
reduce the suction head of the pump.
5.2 hydraulic connections
- By flexible hose with a reinforcement or rigid screw.
- The diameter of the suction pipe must never be smaller than the one
of the pump.
- Limit the horizontal length of the suction pipe and avoid all features
that cause losses of head (tappers, bends...).
- No air input is allowed in the suction pipe.
- With rigid pipes, use supports with collars so that the pump does not
bear the weight of the pipes.
- Carrefully seal the pipes with adequate products.
- If the pump is in suction : immerse the strainer. If necessary ballast the
flexible pipe.
5.3 Electrical connections
The electrical connections and checks should be made by a
qualified electrician and comply with the standards in force.
- Ensure that the installation complies with the standards in force on
the site.
- Check that the electrical circuit is fitted with a very sensitive earth
leakage circuit breaker (30mA maximum) to protect users.
- Ensure that the electrical connections are protected from any
moisture.
- Check that the type, the voltage and the frequency of the mains
supply match the specifications on the identity plate on the unit.
- The motors (single-phase) have an integrated thermal protection.
If an extension is added to the cord supplied withe the motor, it
must comply with the applicable standards : 3 conductors
(2 phases + earth).
5.4 Direction of rotation
The single-phase units always rotate in the correct direction
(factory-set).
6. SARTING-UP
CAUTION !
The pump must never be operate dry.
- To reach a optimum suction-process, it is necessary to fill the pump
housing with water using the hopper cap.
CAUTION !
The mechanical seal must not run dry !
7. MAINTENANCE - SERVICING
Before carrying out work on the pump, unplug it from the
mains and check that there is no risk of electric shock.
If carrying out repairs to the pump, wash it carefully with
clean water before touching it.
Take the risk of infection seriously.
When carrying out maintenance, you must wear protective
gloves to prevent any danger of infection.
No special servicing in operation : always keep the pump and the
motor perfectly clean.
For a prolonged shutdown, if there is no risk of frost, it is best not to
drain the pump.
