8. GENERAL INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS
WARNING!
Installation must be carried out by a qualified
personnel.
Turn the rotor manually to verify the absence of
abnormal noise.
All the following operations must be done without
power supply.
EN
8.1 ANCHORING AND PLACEMENT
Ensure the correct mounting of the motor for proper adhesion to the
entire coupling surface. Also verify the proper alignment in case of direct
coupling.
WARNING!
Install the motor in a ventilated area protected
from the weather (rain, frost ......).
8.2 INSTALLATION
Ensure enough free space around the machine to allow the
operations for fixing, connecting, use and maintenance in safety
conditions. Anyway leave free space in front of the cooling fan as
described in chapter 6.3.

9. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY
QUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
WARNING!
Any intervention must be carried out by qualified
personnel with machine at standstill, disconnected
and previously secured against resrtarting. These
instructions are also valid for the auxiliary circuits.
Make sure there is no supply voltage.
The sistem must be reliably earthed, according to
the electrical regulations in force in the user's
country: this is the installer's responsibility.
Be sure to use a cable that complies with the
regulations in force and the necessary section
according to length, power and mains voltage.
It is recommended that the power supply does not differ by +10% / -5%
for 60 Hz frequency and ± 10% frequency 50 Hz from the nominal
voltage indicated on the motor nameplate.
Frequency variations are allowed if comply with the provisions of EN
60034.
Check the correct execution of the connections as shown in the
connection diagram located below the terminal box cover.
The connection of the power cables must be performed in oder to
ensure a safe and lasting contact. The power cables must be free of any
mechanical traction to avoid tensile stresses at the connection
erminals.
The terminal box must be clean dry.
Unused cable entries and the box itself must be sealed.
To ensure the same degree of protection, use original seals for the
closure of the terminal box.
Make sure that the protective conductor is
connected in accordance with best practice.
First connect the yellow-green wire to PE terminal leaving the cable
longer so that it is the last to be torn off in case of accidental wrenching.

Terminal board to PTC:
Power on for a short period of time with the motor uncoupled, in order to
check the direction of rotation of the cooling fan, which has to be
according the arrow sticker on the fan cover.
In case the sense of rotation is incorrect:
- for DOL (direct-on-line) starting
Swap two wires of the power cord into the terminal block motor;
- for Y/Δ starting:
Swap two conductors of the power cable at the entrance of the
contactor star/delta;
To avoid transient switch connections from Y to Δ
after the lowering of the starting current in Y
connection or after the motor accelleration phase
is completed.
Perform the switching to the attainment of the
nominal speed.
Connect temperature sensors to the release device, following the
connection scheme. If necessary, check continuity of the sensors (max.
2.5 V).
To obtain the maximum degree of thermal protection and overload, use
the proper terminal block (Picture 2) for PTC (Picture 3).
Fuses protect only the supply system and not the motor unit.
