PORTS AND CONNECTIONS

MF series pumps are equipped with (see Fig. 4):
2 "IN" inlet ports:
Ø66 mm (on MF45, MF50, and MF55 versions).
Line connection to any of the two ports is indifferent for
proper pump functioning. The unused ports must be
hermetically closed.
2 "OUT" outlet ports:
G1 ¼" (on MF45, MF50, and MF55 versions).
1 "DRAIN" port: with G1/2" orifice obtained in the lower cover
to monitor any leakage of water due to wear on the pressure
seals. If there are any leaks, refer to the Repair manual.
This orifice must always be kept open.

PUMP INSTALLATION

9.1

Installation

The pump must be fixed horizontally using the M16 threaded
support feet. Tighten the screws with a torque of 200 Nm.
The base must be perfectly flat and rigid enough as not
to allow bending or misalignment on the pump coupling
axis/transmission due to torque transmitted during operation.
Two lifting brackets are mounted on the pump for easy
installation, as per the figure below.

The direction of rotation of the PTO is indicated by an arrow
on the reduction unit cover.
From a position facing the pump manifold, the rotation
direction will be as in Fig. 5.

The brackets are sized for lifting the pump only.
Therefore they must never be used for any
additional loads.
Replace the oil filling hole closing service
plug (red) positioned on the rear casing cover.
Check the correct quantity with the oil dipstick.
The oil dipstick must always be reachable, even
when the unit is assembled.
Grounding: It is necessary to fix a grounding
cable to the pump by means of the M8 stainless
steel screw and the stainless steel toothed washer
properly marked by the YELLOW label. See the
"ATEX EXPLOSION PROTECTION" manual.
The pump shaft (PTO) should not be rigidly
connected to the propulsion unit.
The following types of transmission are
recommended:
-
Flexible coupling.
-
Cardan shaft (comply with manufacturer's Max.
recommended working angles).
-
Belts, for proper application consult with our
Technical or Customer Service Departments.
In all cases, the transmission must be properly
assembled to avoid incorrect or harsh operation
of the connection parts and prevent excessive
wear, an increase in temperature and/or hazardous
breakages that may create potential sources of
ignition and explosion. See the "ATEX EXPLOSION
PROTECTION" manual.
