3.3.2
Pairing Bluetooth adapter and radio
The communication unit must be switched off.
1. Set the radio to pairing mode.
2. Switch on the Bluetooth pairing mode of the communication unit:
Press the ON/OFF and push-to-talk button on the Bluetooth
adapter at the same time.
A visual signal indicates when communication unit and radio are
paired. Functional readiness is then displayed.
3. If necessary, select the name of the Bluetooth adapter on the radio
and enter the activation PIN (0000).
The name is lasered onto the front of the Bluetooth adapter.
When the radio and the communication unit have been successfully
coupled, the communication unit and the radio will only need to be
switched on the next time. They will then be automatically connected.

During use
CAUTION
!
Make sure acoustic feedback due to a second radio does not
happen.
Acoustic feedback may cause hearing damage.
NOTICE
i
i
If the Bluetooth connection is interrupted, the communication
unit will automatically attempt to establish this connection
again until the radio is within range again. The voice amplifier
unit remains functioning during this process.
3.4.1
Establishing readiness for use
1. Put on the full face mask. Position the earphone over the nomex
hood and below the protective helmet.
2. Switch on the radio and the communication unit.
3. Check the functioning of the communication unit: The volume of
spoken words must be amplified.
4. Adjust the volume on the radio if necessary.
5. Check that the communication via the radio is working.
3.4.2
Interrupting the automatic shutdown sequence
If no further speech signals are detected, the "AUTO OFF" warning
signal sounds after approx. 10 minutes. If there is still no speech, the
communication unit switches itself off after a further minute has
passed. It then needs to be switched back on again.
To interrupt the automatic shut-down function, it is necessary to
speak again.

After Use
Clean the communication unit (see chap. 5.1 on page 26) and
check for damage.
