3.
Turn the temperature control to the intermediate position to start to pre-
heat. When the appliance has reached the preset temperature, the indicator
"Ready" turns off.
4.
Heat the appliance up for a couple of minutes without dough, in order to
eliminate possible manufacturing residues. Make sure the room is well
ventilated during this process. After the initial heating process the appli-
ance might show signs of wear, which do not affect its features and do not
constitute a reason for rejection.
5.
Before first use, slightly grease both waffle plates with heat resistant grease
like margarine, for example, using a pastry brush (as the waffle plates are
non-stick coated, greasing is only necessary before the very first use).
6.
The appliance may generate a slight smell when first using it, which is abso-
lutely normal.
7.
The first waffle should not be used and should be thrown away.

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME

1.
Close the appliance and connect the plug to a wall socket (220–240 V~,
50 Hz). The indicator lights up.
2.
Turn the temperature control to the intermediate position to start to pre-
heat. When the appliance has reached the preset temperature, the indicator
"Ready" turns off.

ladle. When closing the appliance the batter is distributed uniformly. Always
ensure that you correctly dose the amount of batter. If you use too little batter

will not be as brown on top as they are on the bottom. If you use too much
batter the excess batter will overflow and adhere on the appliance and the
countertop.
4.
After pouring on the batter, close the appliance immediately so that the waf-
fle browns uniformly on the top and bottom.
5.
Carefully open the appliance and remove the finished waffle. Do not use
any metallic objects to do this, to avoid scratching the coating of the bak-
ing plates.
6.
If the waffle is not yet brown enough, close the appliance and repeat steps
5 and 6 until the waffle is the way you like it.
7.
Note concerning the baking signal lights: When the indicator "Ready" light is
illuminated, this means that the temperature has again been reached, how-
