Cleaning programmer FL8A -
For a 12V DC connection, battery polarity should be
observed when connecting to solar panel leads: both polari-
ties -the solar panel and the battery polarities- must match.
The recommended battery voltage is from 12V to 15V
DC. For optimum battery life, use a 7 amp-hour or greater
rechargeable battery.
Programming
First, turn on the programmer by activating
the ON switch. Then press the RESET button
to
remove
"FALLO
Afterwards set the PERIODIC FLUSH (periodic
backwash of filters) to the desired length. It is
recommended 24 hours.
Note: the periodic flush resets itself automati-
cally after each backwash. For instance: if the
"periodic flush" is set for every 2 hours and the PD
starts a cycle 1 hour later, the "periodic flush" will
not begin the cycle 1 hour later but it will start
again counting the 2 hours that were set at the
"periodic flush".
Afterwards set the BACKWASH TIME and the TIME BETWEEN CLEANINGS according to the type of filter, debris
condition and water pressure.
Next open the control panel and find the 8 position DIP switch, which is on the back of the circuit board, with the
"ESTATIONS" indication. Choose the number of filters to be used. Sliding the small switches up (ON) allows the sta-
tions selected to become energized. You need not necessarily use the first stations, any combination may be used.
Then program the small four position switch marked PD (PD delay). Set the PD delay according to the following
time table:
• Input 220V AC with solenoids 24V AC.- 12V DC with solenoids 12V DC.
To the left of the PD switch is the Program switch. Do not touch it because it is factory-programmed (depending to
input voltage and solenoid to use).
Note: The solenoids that go mounted in the automatic headers work indistinctly with 24V AC and with 12V DC.
Now set the PD gauge to the desired setting according to the filtration system.

Display information

The display shows the following information:
1) When the unit is filtering, display shows "UNIDAD EN ESPERA".
2) When the PD is activated, before starting to backwash, display shows "PD ACTIVADO".
3) Backwashing begins after waiting for the PD delay time. First "INICIO CICLO" is shown. At this moment, none of
the filters has started to clean, but the master valve is closing to increase pressure so that the cleaning of the first fil-
ter is effective. "EST 1 SERVICIO" shows later on: now the first station has started to be cleaned. When the first station
is completely cleaned, display shows "ENTRE E1 – E2", and it goes on this way successively ("EST 2 SERVICIO", "ENTRE
E2 – E3", ...) until it reaches the last station that is programmed.
4) Below the display there is a meter that shows both the number of backwashings carried out and the elapsed time since
the last cleaning took place. To reset those meters, turn off and then, keeping the reset button pressed, switch on the pro-
grammer. Now, the following message will appear: "BORRADO DE CONTADORES".
5) "FALLO ALIMENTACION" is shown after a power failure. This does not interfere with the programmer operation.
To make this message disappear and see the normal information, press the RESET button.
6) During a power failure, the backwash cycle count is maintained. If power fails during the backwash cycle, unit will
resume on that same station when power returns.
