Description
Dräger CPS 5900 Training are mere training suits and do not
offer any protective effects. They are not gas-tight and are
exclusively used to prepare wearers for applications with
hazardous materials with the CPS 5900 chemical protective
suit. The training suits are reusable. A compressed air
breathing apparatus is required for air supply.
The compressed air breathing apparatus, full facepiece and
safety helmet are worn inside the training suit.
Dräger CPS 5900 Training
The training suit is equipped with PVC gloves and sewn-in
socks of suit material. Socks fail to offer protection against
mechanical stresses and strains; the wearer of the suit must
also wear suitable protective boots. A guard prevents the
ingress of foreign substances between socks and protective
boots.
On the front side, the zipper runs to the left from the head to
the lower leg, and is provided with a zipper flap.
The following footwear can be worn:
Europe: protective boots in accordance with EN 15090, e.g.,
Fireman SABF from Etché Securité
U.S.: OnGuard Hazmax 87012 or Tingley 82330 protective
boots
2.1
Intended use
The sole purpose of the CPS 5900 Training is to familiarize the
user with the handling of the CPS 5900 chemical protective
suit and enable the user to become accustomed to the feeling
of wearing a protective suit.
2.2
Limitations on use
The CPS 5900 Training is not a protective suit. It may not be
used for work with hazardous materials and training with these
types of materials.

Use
3.1
Instructions for the handling of the
fastener system
Generally, the fastener system is somewhat stiffer than zippers
on normal clothing. To prevent creases in the fastener system,
the wearer must take hold of the training suit at the hood and
have an assistant pull the trouser leg with the fastener system
over the protective boots using both hands until the fastener
system is free of creases. The suit wearer should be standing
upright when opening and closing the fastener system.
Do not make any abrupt movements when opening and
closing the fastener system. Otherwise there is a risk of
damaging the fastener system.
CAUTION
!
To prevent damage to the fastener system, both
halves of the zipper must be in parallel and
unstressed. When opening and closing the fastener
system, do not use force or tug or jerk the zipper.
