6.3. CHECKING POINTS PRIOR TO USE
The supply current must be in accordance to that on
the rating label of the machine.
Check the machine and look for loose pieces (nuts,
screws etc) and for damaged parts. Tighten, repair
or replace the pieces that you have found to be in
a bad state. Do not use the machine if damaged or
incorrectly adjusted.
6.3.1. PLACING THE MACHINE
Ensure that you place the machine in a vertical and
stable position. It should not be placed near a wall
and on a fl oor that is not too hard and where you have
suffi cient place to be able to work.
6.3.2. VERIFICATION OF THE BLADES AND THE
HOPPER OF THE SHREDDER
Check that there are no elements inside the shredding
channel and that the blades are correctly installed.
6.3.3. CHECKING THE ELECTRICAL CONNEXION
Verify the connecting base and the cable extension
and ensure that they are in a perfect state and that
they comply with the required normative and the
necessary requirements for this machine.
Check the cable and the cable extension is behind the
machine and clear of the work area.
6.4. START UP AND STOPPAGE
Connecting the machine:
Connect the shredder using a suitable extension cable
to the mains.
Starting the machine:
1. Check that the forward/backward switch is in the
forward position
2. Press the On/Off switch in the green zone
marked with the ¨I¨ symbol and the shredder will
start functioning.
Disconnecting the machine:
Press the On/Off switch in the red zone marked ¨O¨.
The engine will stop.
Attention! Do not introduce material into the
hopper once the machine has stopped. This material
could tangle itself in the blades and the engine might
not start when connected again.
6.5. ADJUSTMENT OF DIRECTION OF BLADE
MOVEMENT
Attention! This should only be changed with the
machine disconnected from the mains.
Forward position of the blades:
This is the normal functioning position. In this position
the blades will rotate and push the material into the
interior of the machine and the material will be ejected
through the mouthpiece.
