3. Rub the plastic bag to supply the oil equally across
the air filter.
4. Push the unwanted oil out of the air filter while in the
plastic bag. (Fig. 71)
To add grease to the bevel gear
•
Make sure that the bevel gear is filled ¾ full with
bevel gear grease. (Fig. 72)
The engine does not start

Troubleshooting
Possible cause
The stop switch is in the stop posi-
tion.
The starter pawls cannot move free-
ly.
Incorrect fuel type.
The spark plug is dirty or wet.
The spark plug electrode gap is in-
correct.
The spark plug is loose.
Possible cause
Incorrect fuel type.
The air filter is clogged.
Engine does not idle correctly.
To adjust the throttle cable
1. Make sure that the throttle cable is tight and gives no
gas to the product.
2. Adjust the nut on the throttle cable. (Fig. 73)
3. Tighten the locknuts.
Procedure
Let an approved service agent re-
place the stop switch.
Remove the starter cover and clean
around the starter pawls. See
uct overview on page 6 .

Drain the fuel tank and fill with cor-
rect fuel.
Make sure that the spark plug is dry
and clean.
Clean the spark plug. Make sure that
the electrode gap is correct. Make
sure that the spark plug has a su-
pressor.
Refer to technical data for correct
electrode gap.
Tighten the spark plug.
Procedure
Empty the fuel tank and fill it with correct fuel.
Clean the air filter.
