2) If required, precisely locate the spot with the

5.7 Replaying a loop

With the buttons A, B and RELOOP (13) a sec-
tion on the CD can be memorized as a seamless
loop and be repeated as many times as desired.
1) If the desired starting point of the section is
reached (point a in fig. 5) when replaying,
press the button A. The button A shortly
flashes and then lights up continuously. The
button RELOOP lights up.

2) When the end point of the section is reached
(point b in fig. 5) when the replay is continued,
press button B. The section between the
points is continuously repeated. All three but-
tons A, B and RELOOP flash and the display
shows
(G).
Note: Starting point and end point of the section can
be located in different titles. However, the loop can-
not run beyond the last title of the CD.
3) To exit the loop and to continue the title, press
the button B. By selecting a title with the but-
tons
/
(17), the loop is also exited.

4) To memorize another loop, simply redefine
the starting point and the end point with the

Hint: The starting point and the end point of the sec-
tion can be defined precisely to 1 frame:
1) When reaching the starting point, set the player to
pause. Precisely locate the point with the jog wheel
(12). Then press button A.
2) Now either directly select the end point with the
wheel or first start the replay, when reaching the
end point set the unit to pause again and precisely
locate the end point with the wheel.
3) After the end point has been adjusted, press the

button B. The loop does not yet start although the

B and RELOOP flash.

5.8 Changing the speed
With the pitch control (20) the replay speed and
at the same time the pitch can be changed in two
adjusting ranges: ±8 % or ±16 % deviation from

extinguished. Then the title is replayed at
standard speed again, independent of the
position of the control.
5.8.1 Manual beat counter
With the button TAP (18) it is possible to deter-
mine the number of beats per minute (BPM) for
the current title:
1) Switch the PITCH display field (L) to BPM
display with the button BPM (16).
2) Shortly press the button TAP (18) to the beat
of the music for several times so that the BPM
display field shows the number of the beats.
When changing the speed with the pitch con-
trol, also the BPM value is changed accord-
ingly.
3) For the next title the BPM value must be
determined again.
Note: When the button BPM is used to change to
PITCH display and back to BPM display, the BPM value
is reset (display – –) and must be determined again.
5.9 Pitch Bend – matching the beat
between two music pieces
When operating two players, the beats of two
music pieces of the same speed can be pre-
cisely synchronized with respect to time. Thus,
when crossfading from one player to the other,
the dancing rhythm will not be interrupted.

of the title to which crossfading is desired to
that of the current title (

2) Synchronize the beats of the title to which
crossfading is desired to those of the current
title with the buttons PITCH BEND (10) or the
jog wheel (12):
– As long as the button + is kept pressed or
the wheel is turned clockwise, the title will
be faster.
– As long as the button – is kept pressed or
the wheel is turned counter-clockwise, the
title will be slower.
This will result in displacement of the beats
with regard to the beats of the current title.
Note: Prior to turning the wheel the function "fast for-
ward / reverse" must be switched off: If SEARCH (J) is
shown, press the button SEARCH (7).

6 Maintenance of the Unit

Protect the unit from dust, vibrations, direct sun-
light and humidity. For cleaning only use a dry,
soft cloth; never use water or chemicals.
Note concerning sound interruptions and
reading errors
