CAUTION!
Tighten the fixing screw (3 fig. 9) firmly.
Always replace damaged or crooked blades; never attempt to repair them! When fitting, always follow the diagram
fig. 9.
ALWAYS USE ORIGINAL BLADES! Always check visually that the blade bolts are not wearing or damaged.
BLADE - DRIVE BELT
To adjust the belt tension act on the register (fig.2 n°1), which is on the lever. Working, the spring must stretch 100
mm.
If the belt becomes twisted or comes off, check the pulley alignment.
Take care when positioning the belt guides; move them towards the belt (fig 13). When the drive belt is in
tension, it must not reach the guides.
DRIVE BELTS - HYDROSTATIC AXLE
Check the spring tension, which during the work must stretch 17 mm. To replace the belts, release the tension
springs (fig. 14).
BLADE ROTATION
Rotation is started and stopped using the lever 1 fig. 2 (leaving the lever, the blade stop working).
When rotation is engaged, the engine must be running at medium rpm and the machine must not be in the grass
for cutting.
The blades are disengaged, leaving the lever (1, fig. 2).
The blade must stop within 5 seconds; if this is not the case, adjust the brake using the register (fig.15).
N.B. This operation must be carried out by an authorised after-sales service centre.
CHANGING THE BELTS
The movement is transmitted from the motor to the hydraulic transmission and to the blades by means of two V-
belts. Replace the belts as soon as they show signs of wear!
Their replacement and subsequent adjustment are fairly complex procedures and must be carried out by an
Authorised After-Sales Service Centre.
For cutting deck drive belt, the two belt guides beside the pulley have to be removed (fig. 13); release the belt
stretcher spring (fig. 16) and remove the belt guides (A, fig. 16).
Release the blades brake and the spring (Note: the spring must be assembled in the ring).
For the drive belt hydrostatic axle, you need assembly the belt guides support (fig. 17).
ALWAYS USE ORIGINAL BELTS!
TRACTION RELEASE LEVER
The traction release device is located at the back of the machine (fig. 18); if the machine breaks down, to allow it
to be moved by hand, move the lever to idle position (A, fig. 18). In the position (B) shown in Fig. 22 the machine
is in working condition.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING:
CAUSE
– Carburettor problems
– Deposits or dirt in fuel
– Fault in ignition system
PROBLEM
REMEDY
Difficult starting or irregular running of engine
– Clean or change the air filter
– Adjust the carburettor (follow engine manual instructions)
– Empty the tank and use fresh petrol
– Check and change the petrol filter if necessary
– Check that the vent on the tank cap is
not blocked
– Check that the caps of the sparkplugs are correctly
fastened
– Check that the electrodes are clean and at the correct
distance apart.
