zone behindhandles andkeepchildren,bystanders,helpers,and pets at

Alwayswearsafetyglassesor safetygoggles duringoperationandwhile
performingan adjustmentor repairto protectyour eyes.Thrown objects
which ricochetcan causeserious injury to the eyes.

Wear sturdy, rough-soledwork shoesandclose-fittingslacksandshirts.
Shirts andpantsthat coverthe arms and legs andsteel-toedshoes
are recommended.Neveroperatethis machinein barefeet, sandals,
slippery or light weight (e.g.canvas) shoes.

Donot put handsor feet near rotatingpartsor undercuttingdeck.
Contactwith bladecan amputatehandsandfeet.

A missing or damageddischargecovercan causebladecontact or
thrown objectinjuries.

Manyinjuriesoccuras a result ofthe mowerbeing pulledoverthe foot
duringa fall causedby slipping or tripping.Do not hold on to the mowerif
you are falling; releasethe handleimmediately.

Neverpull the mowerbacktowardyou whileyou arewalking. If you must
back the mowerawayfrom a wall or obstructionfirst look down and
behind to avoid trippingandthenfollow these steps:
a. Step backfrom mowerto fully extendyourarms.
b. Be sureyou arewell balancedwithsure footing.
c. Pull back slowly,no morethan half waytowardsyou.
d. Repeatthesesteps as needed.

operation.Doingso makesthe safetydevice inoperativeand may result
in personalinjury through contactwiththe rotatingblade.The blade
control handle mustoperateeasily in bothdirectionsand automatically
returnto the disengagedpositionwhen released.

Neveroperatethe mowerin wet grass.Alwaysbe sureof yourfooting. A
slip andfall can causeseriouspersonalinjury.If you feel you are losing
your footing,releasethe bladecontrol handle immediately andthe blade
will stop rotatingwithinthreeseconds.
