- Trackball Area Visible: if only dimmers or dimmer packs are compiled in one group, a trackball field for
the X-Y control does not make any sense. For better survey it is therefore possible to switch the trackball
field on and off with this option. The functions and dependences of the faders and flash buttons correspond to
those in the main desk. In the main desk the flash buttons can be marked in red or blue color as well. Each
group window has its own status line, in which the channel assignment and the position values of the
trackball field can be read.
The functions of the flash buttons beneath the faders are the same as in the main mixer.
In addition to the group windows the menu item 'Device' has been implemented. The maximum number of
channels of the group windows is limited to 200 (10x20). That is not enough for the new converter box
DMX-510. In the menu 'Device' the user can create as much device windows as he needs (only limited by
the RAM of the PC). The appearance of the device windows is nearly the same as the appearance of the
group boxes. The devices have the same functions as the groups except the zooming function. To create a
new device the user has to select the menu item 'Device/New device'. First of all, the user has to enter a
name for the new device. After confirming with the button 'Ok' a new device window will open with at first
20 faders. Now the faders have to be assigned to the desired channels (see above: Channel assignment) . To
configure all other features of the device, the user has to proceed like for the configuration of the group
windows (see above).
The new device can be saved to the hard disk by selecting the menu point 'Device/Save device'. If there are
several newly created devices, the user can choose the option 'Save group of devices'. In this case all
devices shown in the list box will be saved with its names as file names. In addition a 'group of devices' file
will be created, if the user has entered the desired file name for 'group of devices' file. If only one new
device shall be saved, the option 'Save single device' has to be active and the desired device name has to be
selected with the mouse. After confirming with 'Ok' a save file dialog box opens and the user has to enter the
desired file name and confirm with the button 'Save'.
Devices can be loaded as a single device with the menu item 'Device/ Load device' or as a group of devices
with 'Device/ Load group of devices'. All loaded devices will be created automatically and their names
appear in the Device column of the menu, so that the user can activate a desired device by clicking on its
name.
