In the scene desk window the 12 function keys of the keyboard can be assigned in 10 levels with a total of
120 scenes. For this purpose first select the desired level by pressing the key 'CTRL' and the number (0-9)
with the numerical keys (block of numbers). Then press the Shift key and at the same time the desired
function key. The user enters the scene number for the function key in the input window. For calling a scene
by function key first select a level with the numerical keys (0-9). If a function key is pressed now, the
corresponding scene is called including its fade time.
To recognize the actual level an 'E' and the actual level number is shown at the right side of the lower status
bar.
2.2.4 The function key table
It is also very easy to assign scenes and sequences to function keys in the window 'Function key
settings' (Windows/Function key settings). In the first column of the table the function key (1-12) is shown,
the second column contains the level (0-9). With the right mouse button a menu window can be opened to
add scenes and sequences to the table and to save, load and print them.
Inserting a sequence: Open the menu with the right mouse button and choose 'Insert sequence'. A file list
with sequence files (*.squ) will be opened. Choose the desired sequence file with the left mouse button and
drag it with the mouse into the function key table to the row of the desired function key. Now in the column
'File' the file name appears the directory included. In the column 'Sequence' an 'A' appears. The user can
change the letter by clicking with the left mouse button into the 'Sequence' field. An option table will be
opened and the user can choose the letter (A-D) of the desired sequence table, which should be loaded and
started with the sequence. To cancel or delete the input the option 'Clr' has to be selected.
A sequence called by a function key will be started at once.
Inserting a scene: Open the menu with the right mouse button and choose 'Insert scene'. The scene desk
appears. If the table in the scene desk contains no scenes, the user has to load now some (menu:
Program/Load Scenes). Choose the desired scene with the left mouse button and drag it with the mouse into
the function key table to the row of the desired function key. Now in column 'File' the file name of the scene
appears the directory included. In the column 'Scene' the scene number is shown and the column 'Name'
contains the scene name.
A scene called by a function key will be started at once.
Saving the function key table: Open the menu with the right mouse button and choose 'Save function key
table'. A save file dialog box appears on the screen and the user can enter the desired name of the function
key file in the field 'File name'. The default file extension for function key files (*.fkt) will be added
automatically to the file name.
Loading a function key table: Open the menu with the right mouse button and choose 'Load function key
table'. A load file dialog box appears on the screen and the user can select the desired function key file with
the left mouse button and load it by clicking the button 'open'. The new assignments of the function keys are
available at once.
Printing a function key table: Open the menu with the right mouse button and choose 'Print function key
table'. A print dialog box appears on the screen and the user can select the desired printer for a hard copy of
the function key table. After confirming with 'Ok' the printer starts printing. Empty rows will be ignored and
for each empty row a '*' will be printed.
Attention: Depending on the scene numbers of the loaded scenes and sequences the scenes of the scene desk
could be overwritten.

For creating a sequence, the DMX-510USB has now 4 independent sequence tables (a-d). They will be found
