Test procedures
• Install the gauge in the system as explained in the installation chapter.
• Make sure that the register is completely open. If the manometer is not open,
it may cause damage to the vehicle system and damage to the manometer,
causing loss of warranty.
• Be sure that the valve is totally open.
• Activate the ignition key and start the engine. (Gauge valve must be
completely open).
• With the engine at idle, execute accelerations and analyze the behavior of
pressure.
Analysis of pressure
During the acceleration test, the pressure pointer must follow the acceleration,
i.e., pressure must increase proportionally to acceleration. If that doesn't occur, it
is because the high-pressure pump is having difficulties in maintaining system
flow.
Important: Each Common Rail System has its particularities. Some systems
can reach pressures above 2000 bar during tests, which activates the safety
valve. Others, due to the construction of the system, might not go beyond
1000 bar. Therefore, do not compare test values of different systems.
Technical characteristics
• Monitor diameter: 100 mm.
• Pressure range: 0 - 2000 bar.
• Precision level: A1 ABNT (±1% of upper range limit).
• Manual valve for controlling Diesel flow.
• Safety valve in order to avoid the excess of pressure (open, adjusted to
1800 Bar).
