Maintenance

Your nursing bed requires minimum maintenance, but it is advisable to inspect the nursing bed
regularly in order to keep it trouble-free for years.
4.1

Points of maintenance

CAUTION
Servicing, repairs and disinfection should only be undertaken by authorized and trained
persons.
Keep handset, motors and connection points clean and protect them from moisture.
The last page of this manual contains a registration form for the specialist dealer
to record each service.
Contact your specialist dealer to agree to a common timetable for
inspection/maintenance/repair.
To find a service facility or specialist dealer near you, contact the nearest
Vermeiren company division. A list of Vermeiren company divisions can be found
on the cover page.
Once a year / for every new user
This nursing bed needs to be serviced and disinfected before passing on to a new user, but at
least once a year. Contact your specialist dealer for more information.
Once a month
Visually inspect next points regularly:
Keep your castor wheels free of wires, hair, sand and carpet fibres.
Check the working of the brakes. If the bed can be moved while the brakes are applied,
you should check wheels and brakes for wear, damage of contamination like oil, water...
Handset, motors, connection points and cables: check for damage like electrical wires
that are frayed, broken or that become exposed.
Check if all parts are well secured.
Check all parts for damage or wear. Contact your specialist dealer for possible repairs
or part replacements.
Once a week
Cleaning:
Use a soft cloth or vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
In case of dirt, empty the nursing bed and remove the mattress. Wipe all parts with a
damp cloth (not drenched). If necessary, use a mild soap, suitable for varnishes and
synthetics.
If stored
Make sure that the bed is stored dry to prevent mould or rust, see details in chapter 6.
4.2

End of use

At end of life, you need to dispose your nursing bed according to the local environmental
legislation. The best way to do so, is to disassemble the nursing bed to facilitate the transport
of recyclable parts.
