Beef Burgers
Ingredients
Lean ground beef
Garlic, crushed
Worcestershire sauce
Sweet paprika
Salt
Black pepper
Beer
Sliced beetroot
Pineapple
Spanish onions
Pinch of salt
Freshly baked bread
Ripe tomatoes
Shredded lettuce
Barbecue sauce
Method
• In a bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt
and pepper. Mix well and add the beer until it is absorbed. Form the mixture into
burger patties.
• Preheat the grill until the green 'Ready' light illuminates.
• Cook the burger patties in batches, placing them on the heated grill plate without
crowding. Cook the patties for 5-9 minutes, depending on size, then remove and
keep warm.
• Slice the onions and tomatoes and cut the bread into thick slices.
• When the patties are cooked, grill the pineapple and onion slices for about
5 minutes or until nicely caramelised. Then toast the bread (buns) on the grill
plate for 1 minute, or until warm and showing grill markings.
• To assemble a burger, place a patty on a toasted bread slice (bun), follow with
onions, pineapple, beetroot, tomatoes and shredded lettuce. Add a little barbecue
sauce and top with the other piece of toasted bread (bun).
