Using the Grill
1. Preparation
•
Place the grill on a firm, stable surface, leaving at least 4 inch of free space
at each side of the grill so that the air can
circulate around the appliance.
•
Ensure the drip tray is in position to
catch fat and oils from grilled food.
(Fig.1)
2. Preheating
•
Insert the plug into the power outlet and
switch on the power at the outlet. The
red power light indicates that the appliance is heating up.
•
During the first use some smoke may escape from the appliance. This
smoke development is harmless and will disappear after a few minutes.
•
With the lid closed, let the grill heat up until the green 'Ready' indicator
lights up.
3. Grilling
•
Open the grill and put the food to be grilled on the bottom grill plate.
•
Close the top plate to allow the food to be cooked from both sides. The
floating hinge design accommodates oddly shaped food. The grill plates
should be parallel to ensure even cooking.
•
During grilling the green 'Ready' light will cycle on and off. This indicates
that the grill is regulating its temperature.
•
Monitor your food to ensure it is appropriately cooked – see page 11 for
suggested cooking times. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is
plugged in.
•
When the food is done, open the top plate carefully using an oven mitt or
tea towel. Remove the food with a silicone, wooden or heatproof plastic
spatula or tongs.
Cooking food on the 5 Serving Grill significantly reduces the cooking
time.
Food may only require about half the time it would take using a traditional
grill. Use the cooking chart on page 11 for guidance, and always monitor your food
