Collection Canister:
1.
Push power button to turn unit off. Wait for vacuum level to drop.
2.
Disconnect external power source from input receptacle on unit (if applicable).
3.
Remove canister from unit by disconnecting the elbow, tubing and filter as needed.
NOTE
– The reusable collection canister and lid are single-patient use and should be
replaced every 1 to 2 months, depending on use and cleaning method.
4.
Collection canisters and lids should be emptied and thoroughly cleaned after each use. Wash in
a hot water/dishwashing detergent solution and rinse with clean, hot tap water. Then rinse with
a commercial disinfectant or one part vinegar to three parts hot water solution. Thoroughly
rinse with hot tap water and air dry.

Autoclave Instructions (for professional use)
•
C lean the autoclavable canister and lid thoroughly with mild soap. Do not autoclave canister
elbow or float ball. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry thoroughly. Place parts in
autoclave as follows::
• Canister and lid oriented with open end down - be sure the parts do not touch.
• Autoclave for 3 to 5 minute cycle at 270ºF (132ºC).
In lieu of autoclave sterilization, the above parts can be soaked in an activated dialdehyde solution.
NOTE
– Use only DeVilbiss reusable canisters. Substitution may lead to poor performance
and will void warranty.
Suction Unit:
1.
With the power "Off," disconnect the unit from all external power sources.
2.
Wipe the outside housing with a clean cloth dampened with commercial disinfectant/detergent
(bacterial-germicidal).
CAUTION
Do not submerge suction unit in water; this will result in damage to vacuum
–
pump.
Tubing:
1.
Disconnect tubing from unit.
2.
Tubing should be rinsed thoroughly after each use by running tap water through it, followed by a
solution of one part vinegar to three parts hot water.
3.
Rinse again with hot tap water and air dry.
4.
Keep the outside surface of the tubing clean by wiping with a clean damp cloth.
Carry Bag:
Wipe the bag with a clean cloth dampened with a mild detergent and/or disinfectant.
