14. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
There is water in the drip tray (A11)
The machine fails to produce espresso
co ee
The porta lter cannot be attached to the
machine
The espresso co ee drips from the edges
of the porta lter (C1) instead of from the
spouts
The espresso cream is too light (delivered
from the spout too fast)
CAUSE
This water comes from the internal cir-
cuits of the machine and is a normal con-
sequence of their operation
No water in the tank (A15)
The
(B6) light is on, meaning that
the co ee circuit or the steam circuit is
empty
The co ee lter is clogged
The tank (A15)is not properly in place and
the valves at the bottom are not open
Limescale in the water circuit
Co ee ground too nely
The ground co ee has not been tamped
or the quantity is excessive
The porta lter is not properly attached
The seal of the co ee spout (A19) has lost
exibility or is dirty
The co ee lter is clogged
The appliance settings need reviewing

SOLUTION
Empty and clean the drip tray on a reg-
ular basis
Fill the tank
Press the button associated with the
light to ll the circuit
Rinse the lters under running water.

Press down lightly on the tank to open
the valves at the bottom
Descale as described in section "11.
Descaling"
Remove the porta lter (C1) and repeat
the co ee-making steps, bearing in the
mind the indications given in sections "4.
Making co ee" and "4.2 Step 2 - Tamping"
Repeat the grinding step with di erent
settings. Reduce the dosage quantity:
check that the lter (1 or 2 cups) and the
grinding dosage are correctly matched
(1x button (B2) or 2x button (B3)
selected)
Attach the porta lter correctly and twist
rmly as far as it will go
Have the co ee spout seal replaced by a
Service Centre
Rinse the lters under running water.
