When the oil has drained out, re-fit the oil drain plug (fig.
12). Fill new oil through the oil filler opening until it comes
up to the required level. Do not overfill. After topping up,
tighten the oil dipstick (fig. 13), making sure that there are
no leaks during use. Check the oil level on a daily basis or
prior to each use.
RETENSIONING THE V-BELT
See Figures 14 - 15.
Unplug the power cord and remove the safety guard for
the V-belt (figure 14).
Mark the corners of the motor mounting plate closest to
the pump for reference purposes.
Loosen the four motor fixing screws (figure 15) and
remove the belt.
Reposition the motor 1/8"-1/4" further away from the
pump using the corner marks to keep the drive pulleys
properly squared.
Retighten the motor fixing screws and roll belt back on
using the flywheel cooling fins for leverage. Do not get
fingers pinched between belt/drive.
Refit belt guard and test run for proper belt tension.
TIGHTENING OF HEAD TENSION RODS
See Figure 16.
Check that all screws (in particular those of the head of
the unit) are tightly drawn up.
The check must be carried out prior to the first
compressor starting. And after the first hour of work.
Tightening values for the tension rods of the head:
