2 | General safety instructions
Only connect the VarioSmoker to
n
mains voltages that meet the } Tech-
nical data.
Only plug in the mains cable plug into
n
a socket with protective earthing.
Make sure that nobody can trip over
n
the mains cable, USB cable and cable
to the smoker box.
Safety instructions during use
This will prevent material damage, injury
or fatal accidents:
Only use the VarioSmoker inside the
n
cooking cabinet of a combi-steamer.
Do not use the VarioSmoker in the
n
iHexagon.
Never place the power supply cable
n
plug in the cooking cabinet.
Never place the USB and connection
n
cable of the power supply inside the
cooking cabinet.
Only use the VarioSmoker in a combi-
n
steamer operated below an active ex-
traction system.
Do not use the VarioSmpler if only one
n
air circulation system such as the Ul-
traVent or the UltraVent Plus is avail-
able.
Make sure that the power supply is
n
firmly connected to the bracket. Click

This will prevent fire hazards:
Only use commercial wood chips and

wood pellets for smoking. Click here

Do not water the smoking material

with alcohol.

Do not open the cooking cabinet door
n
while the food is smoking.
Do not start the cool down function
n
while the food is smoking. High fan
speeds can cause sparks to fly and the
smoked food to burn too quickly.
This will prevent scalding and burns:
Wear personal protection equipment
n
when you are removing the VarioS-
moker, food or objects from the hot
cooking cabinet. The VarioSmoker can
reach temperatures of over 60°C. See
2.1 } Personal protective equipment.
Safety instructions after use
Open the cooking cabinet door care-
n
fully after use. Hot steam and smoke
fumes may escape.
Carefully open the lid of the hot Vari-
n
oSmoker. Hot steam and smoke fumes
may escape.
Do not store any flammable sub-
n
stances near the hot VarioSmoker.
Clean the VarioSmoker after every use.
n
Clean the cooking cabinet door gasket
n
with lukewarm water, a mild cleaning
agent and a soft cloth after you have
smoked food. This will remove un-
pleasant smells.
Disconnect the VarioSmoker's power
n
supply if it is not to be used for a
longer period of time.
2.1 Personal protective equipment
When working with the unit, only
n
wear clothing that cannot cause a
work accident, particularly due to heat,
splashing hot liquids or corrosive sub-
stances.
