Intended Use
Provides protection when using electric, battery and petrol garden power tools, including chainsaws,
strimmers, hedge cutters and lawn mowers that create high noise levels and may throw dust and
debris towards the face of the operator.
Assembly and Fitting
1. Position the Ear Cup (8) halfway on the Headband Ear Cup Slot (6) (Image A) and turn the Ear
Cup so the Ear Cup Connector (7) is in line with the Headband Ear Cup Slot (Image B) to remove
the Ear Cup from the Headband (2)
2. Locate the two Headband Slots (4) (Image C) and carefully insert one end of the Headband into
each slot (Image D)
3. Feed the ends through the Headband Slots until you reach the angled part of the Headband
(Image E)
4. Refit the Ear Cups to the Headband by positioning them halfway on the Headband Ear Cup Slot
and turning to secure
5. Fit the Mesh Visor (10) over the Mesh Visor Pins (11) (Image F) then turn the pins 180° to secure
(Image G & H). Check it is secure and correctly positioned (Image I)
6. The forestry hat is now assembled (Images L & M) but adjustments must be made to ensure
a good fit
• The height of the Ear Cups can be adjusted in the Headband Slots for maximum sound
attenuation and comfort.
• Adjustments to the top of the Headband are to be made prior to wearing the forestry hat (Image
J). When correctly adjusted there should be no gap between the Headband and the top of
the head.
• The Strap Adjuster (3) that sits on the rear of the forestry hat can be adjusted while fitted to the
head (Image K). Turning the Strap Adjuster clockwise will reduce the length of the strap and
anti-clockwise will increase it. Do not force the Strap Adjuster when it has reached its minimum
or maximum strap length.
WARNING: These ear muffs are of 'medium size range' . Ear muffs complying with EN352-1
are of 'medium size range' or 'small size range' or 'large size range' . 'Medium size range' ear muffs
will fit the majority of wearers. 'Small size range' or 'large size range' ear-muffs are designed to fit
wearers for whom 'medium size range' ear muffs are not suitable.
