REVERSE CAUTION
MODE
Use extremecautionwhileoperatingthetractorin the REVERSE
CAUTIONMODE.Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeand while
backing.Do notoperatethe tractorwhenchildrenor othersare
around.Stopthe tractorimmediately if someoneentersthe area.
The REVERSE CAUTIONMODEpositionof the key switchmodule
allowsthe tractorto be operatedin reversewith the blades(PTO)
engaged.
iMPORTANT: Mowingin reverseisnot recommended.
Touse the REVERSE CAUTIONMODE:
iMPORTANT: The operatorMUSTbe seatedinthe tractorseat.
1. Start engineas instructed u nderthe headingStartingThe Engine
laterin this section.
2. Turnthe key from the NORMALMO%NG (Green)positionto the
REVERSE CAUTIONMODE(Yellow)positionof the keyswitch
module.See Figure8.
3. Depressthe REVERSE PUSHBUTTON(Orange,Triangular
Button)at the top, rightcornerof the key switchmodule.The red
indicator light at the top, left cornerof the key switchmodulewill
be ON whileactivated.See Figure8.

ENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE
To engage the parking brake:
1. Fullydepressthe clutch-brakepedaland hold itdownwith your
foot.
2. Movethe speedcontrolleverall the waydownand intothe
parkingbrakeposition.
3. Releasethe clutch-brake pedal to allowthe parkingbraketo engage.
To release the parking brake:
1. Depressthe clutch-brakepedaland movethe speedcontrollever
out of the parkingbrakepositionand intoa desiredspeed.
SETTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT
1. Selectthe heightpositionof the cuttingdeck by placingthe deck
lift leverin anyof the six differentcutting heightnotcheson the
rightsideof the fender.
2. Adjust the deck wheels sothat they are between1A-inch and
Y2-inch abovethe groundwhenthe tractoris on a smooth,fiat
surfacesuch as a driveway.
To adjust Deck Wheels:
1. Removethe flangelock nuton the shoulderbolt securingthe
deck wheel.
2. Positionthe wheelto thedesiredheightas listedabove.
3. Securethe shoulderboltwith the flangelock nut.
Keephandsand feet away fromthe dischargeopeningof the cutting
deck.
NOTE: Thedeck wheelsare an anti-scalpfeatureof the deck and
are notdesignedto supportthe weightof the cuttingdeck. Referto
Levelingin the Maintenance & Servicesectionof this manualfor more
detailedinstructionsregardingvariousdeck adjustments.

4. Onceactivated(indicatorlightON), the tractorcan be drivenin
reversewith the cuttingblades(PTO)engaged.
5. Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeand whilebackingto make
sureno childrenare around.
6. After resumingforwardmotion,returnthe keyto the NORMAL
MOWINGposition.
iMPORTANT: The REVERSE CAUTIONMODEwill remainactivated
until:
a.
Thekey is placedin eitherthe NORMALMOWING position
or STOPposition.
Theoperatorengagesthe parkingbrakeby fully depressing
the clutch-brake pedal and holdingit downwhilemovingthe
speedcontrolleverintothe PARKBRAKEposition.
