8. TROUBLESHOOTING
For the following minor malfunctions, please try to solve the problem yourself before
contacting the official Cecotec Technical Support Service.
Problem
The device is not working
properly.
Smells inside the
compartments.
Appliance noise.

Possible cause and solution
Check that the power cord is properly connected to a power
outlet.
Check the fuse or circuit in your power supply, replace if
necessary.
The room temperature is too low or too high. Try adjusting
the compartment temperature to a cooler setting.
It is normal for the refrigerator not to operate during the
defrost cycle or for a short time after switching on the
appliance to protect the compressor.
The interior may need to be cleaned.
Some foods, packaging or wrappings cause odours.
These sounds are normal:
Compressor operation noise.
Air movement noise from fan motor or other compartments.
Noise similar to boiling water.
Noise during automatic defrosting.
Clicking noise before the compressor is switched on.
Compressor motor noise
Other causes of unusual noise are listed below and may
require review and action:
The refridgerator is not levelled.
The rear part of the refridgerator is in contact with the wall.
Dropped bottles or containers collide with each other.
